Frequently Asked Questions.

Everything you need to know before choosing your Vehicle Protection Plan. Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Our team is always happy to help you understand the details.

What is a Vehicle Protection Plan?

A Vehicle Protection Plan helps cover the cost of specified mechanical repairs after your manufacturer's warranty has expired. It is designed to protect you from unexpected repair expenses and give you greater peace of mind while owning your vehicle.

Which vehicles are eligible for coverage?

Vehicle eligibility depends on several factors, including:

  • Vehicle age
  • Kilometres driven
  • Service history
  • Vehicle verification results
  • Overall vehicle condition

Every vehicle must be reviewed and approved before a protection plan can be issued.

Are electrical and electronic components covered?

No. Electrical, electronic, infotainment, battery, sensor, module, ECU/TCU, wiring, and software-related components are not covered under the Vehicle Protection Plan.

How long does the coverage last?

You can choose a 1-year, 2-year, or 3-year protection plan.

Each year provides coverage for up to 15,000 kilometres, whichever limit is reached first. Coverage begins from the activation date mentioned on your Plan Certificate and automatically ends once either the time or kilometre limit is reached.

Is there a waiting period before I can make a claim?

Yes. Every plan includes a mandatory waiting period of 30 days or 1,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

Claims arising during this period will not be eligible for coverage. For selected vehicles, the waiting period may be waived at the Company's sole discretion.

What are the claim limits for each plan?

The maximum total claim liability under each plan is:

  • Essential: ₹1,00,000
  • Elite: ₹2,00,000
  • Ultimate: ₹3,00,000

The Company reserves the right to repair, replace, or recondition any covered component. Please refer to the Coverage Details for the complete terms.

Do you cover Petrol, Diesel, and EV vehicles?

Yes. Vehicle Protection Plans are available for Petrol, Diesel, and EV vehicles.

Petrol and Diesel plan pricing depends on your vehicle's brand category, while EV plans are available at a fixed rate based on the selected plan tier.

You can get an instant personalised quote using the calculator on our homepage.

Are wear-and-tear items covered?

No. Parts that naturally wear out through regular use are not covered.

These include items such as:

  • Brake pads
  • Clutch plates
  • Tyres
  • Wiper blades
  • Filters
  • Oils and other fluids
How do I make a claim, and how long does it take?

Take your vehicle to a manufacturer-authorised service centre and share the following with us:

  • Service centre details
  • Service advisor's contact information
  • Vehicle job card

Once your claim is verified, our claims team will begin the review process and provide an estimated timeline. Processing time may vary depending on the complexity of the repair and the required documentation.

Is this the same as car insurance?

No. Motor insurance generally covers events such as accidents, theft, and other insured incidents.

A Vehicle Protection Plan is designed to help cover specified mechanical failures that occur during normal vehicle use, including eligible components of the engine, gearbox, drivetrain, steering, and braking systems, depending on your selected plan.

What components are covered?

Coverage depends on the protection plan you choose:

  • Essential: Covers the engine.
  • Elite: Includes engine coverage and adds gearbox/transmission and drivetrain components.
  • Ultimate: Includes the coverage offered in Elite and adds specified steering, braking, cooling, and fuel system components, along with factory-fitted turbochargers or superchargers.

Please refer to the Coverage Details for the complete component list under each plan.

Is the 30-second vehicle verification mandatory?

Yes. Every vehicle must successfully complete a 30-second self-guided vehicle verification before coverage can be activated.

The process is completed through a short smartphone-based video walkaround of the vehicle.

Can I purchase coverage for a used car?

Yes. Our Vehicle Protection Plans are designed for both out-of-warranty and pre-owned vehicles, not only newly purchased cars.

What is not covered?

The following are generally excluded from coverage:

  • Electrical and electronic failures
  • Accident, flood, or fire damage
  • Damage caused by negligence
  • Unauthorised modifications
  • Routine maintenance and servicing
  • Cosmetic repairs
  • Standard wear-and-tear items

Please refer to the complete Terms & Conditions for all applicable exclusions.

Can I transfer my plan to a new owner?

Yes. The Vehicle Protection Plan may be transferred to a subsequent vehicle owner, subject to:

  • Company approval
  • Verification of the change in ownership
  • Applicable transfer administration fees
What happens if I provide false information?

Coverage will terminate immediately, without any refund, if:

  • False or misleading information is provided
  • The vehicle odometer is tampered with
  • Service history is falsified
  • A fraudulent claim is submitted or attempted
Why should I buy a Vehicle Protection Plan?

Major mechanical repairs can be expensive, especially once your manufacturer's warranty has expired. Repairs involving the engine, gearbox, transmission, or drivetrain can sometimes cost thousands or even lakhs of rupees.

A Vehicle Protection Plan helps protect you from these unexpected expenses by providing specified mechanical repair coverage for a predictable cost. It can also provide greater confidence when maintaining and owning your vehicle.

The Legal Terms Governing Your Plan.

This summary applies to all Petrol, Diesel and EV Vehicle Protection Plans. Your Plan Certificate — issued after successful vehicle inspection and approval — is the final governing document for any coverage or claim.
